Free Speech and Its Critics

The annual conference of NOMOS: The American Society for Political and Legal Philosophy, on Free Speech and Its Critics, will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026. It will be a hybrid event, with an in-person conference hosted by the Karsh Center for Law and Democracy and the Center for Law & Philosophy at the University of Virginia School of Law together with a Zoom meeting. 

There is no registration fee. You may register here. We will send out the zoom link shortly before the conference.

If you are not already a member of NOMOS, we encourage you to join. All who become a member by October 1 will receive NOMOS LXVIII Climate Change and NOMOS LVIII: Structural Injustice (the volumes growing out of our recent conferences).
